Senior IT Business Analyst (f/m/d)

Axpo has been operating in the Polish market for over 20 years now. It employs about 260 people and is one of the largest independent offtakers of green energy. Customers in Poland benefit from tailor-made offers for the purchase and supply of energy and gas based on structured and long-term contracts. Axpo Polska also provides services to more than 25,000 companies from the small and medium-sized enterprises segment and, since April 2020, it has only been offering energy with a certified origin from renewable energy sources. While supporting energy transition in Poland, the Company also implements large-scale photovoltaic projects.
Currently we are looking for: Senior IT Business Analyst (f/m/d)
Your responsibilities:
- run workshops with business teams to collect and clarify requirements. Document scope, KPIs, and success criteria,
- turn business needs into User Stories and acceptance criteria. Help manage the backlog with the Product Owner,
- map AS‑IS processes and design TO‑BE processes. Create BPMN diagrams.
- Define data needs and interface specs (data flows, APIs, data mappings) with system owners and IT,
- prepare high‑level architecture together with the IT Architect,
- help business and IT agree on solution options. Explain choices and trade-offs,
- prepare test scenarios and acceptance criteria, support UAT, and help review defects by clarifying requirements and expected behaviour,
- lead change tasks: do impact analysis, update documentation, and inform stakeholders,
- report progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager/PO and stakeholders,
- propose plans to reduce risks.
Our requirements:
- 4–5 years as an IT/Business Analyst on digital projects (energy/utilities, banking/finance, or telco),
- proven experience as a lead Business Analyst on large projects,
- master’s degree in IT/ICT, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field,
- strong stakeholder management and workshop skills. Able to bridge business and IT,
- solid requirements work: User Stories, acceptance criteria, BPMN, and basic data modeling,
- proficiency in Jira, Confluence, BPM tools, and digital whiteboards (e.g., Miro/Mural). SQL basics are a plus.
- knowledge of the Polish energy market (especially CSIRE) and gas industry is a plus (not required),
- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Able to work under time pressure,
- very good spoken and written business English; fluent Polish.
