Join Axpo and play a key role in ensuring compliance and integrity in energy trading. With a focus on trade surveillance and regulatory reporting, you will contribute to Axpo’s success in navigating complex global energy markets while driving continuous improvement in governance and controls.
What you will do:
Ensure robust trade surveillance across Axpo’s physical and financial energy trading activities, detecting and escalating potential market abuse and conduct risks in line with REMIT requirements.
Own and coordinate Axpo’s regulatory reporting obligations under REMIT and EMIR, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reported data.
Analyse large and complex datasets to design, implement, and improve surveillance reports, key risk indicators, and control mechanisms.
Support regulatory risk management for Axpo’s international trading activities, aligning surveillance and reporting standards across jurisdictions.
Act as a trusted partner to Trading, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and IT, providing expert advice on regulatory risks and supporting management decision-making.
Monitor regulatory thresholds, position limits, and reporting triggers, assessing their impact on trading strategies and business models.
Draft, maintain, and develop policies, guidelines, and procedures related to trade surveillance and regulatory reporting.
Supervise and follow up on IT service requests and issues related to regulatory reporting, including changes caused by new contracts and customer onboarding.
What you bring & who you are:
Education: University degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Administration. Solid knowledge of energy markets, derivatives, or financial markets is highly desirable.
Regulatory Expertise: Formal education or advanced training in REMIT and EMIR frameworks is an advantage, along with certifications in risk, compliance, or energy trading.
Leadership Skills: Ability to provide independent judgment, challenge constructively, and communicate regulatory risks clearly to senior management.
Professional Skills:
Strong understanding of regulatory risk in energy trading, with exposure to trade surveillance and regulatory reporting.
Analytical mindset to translate trading data and regulatory requirements into practical controls and reports.
Confidence in engaging with multiple stakeholders and growing into interactions with regulators and external parties.
Personal Attributes: High integrity, independence, and responsibility, with the confidence to raise concerns constructively. Pragmatic problem-solving approach combined with attention to detail.
Languages: Full professional proficiency in English; Polish proficiency is desirable. Additional languages are an advantage.
