Axpo Polska also provides services to more than 25,000 companies from the small and medium-sized enterprises segment and, since April 2020, it has only been offering energy with a certified origin from renewable energy sources. While supporting energy transition in Poland, the Company also implements large-scale photovoltaic projects.
Currently we are looking for: Senior Risk Analyst
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of P&L and key risk indicators (KRIs), including comprehensive reporting on the SME business segment.
- Enhance and further develop the company’s market risk analytics framework and Business Intelligence capabilities.
- Build, maintain, and improve models for local risk assessment and reporting, utilizing programming languages such as R and Python.
- Analyze the risk profile of Trading, Origination, and SME portfolios in close collaboration with Front Office and senior management.
- Deliver high-quality risk analysis and reporting to the Executive Board and management, including deep dives into specific business lines or emerging risk topics.
- Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization and support the proactive management of material risks that could affect the company’s strategic objectives.
Our requirements:
- Outstanding academic background with a university degree in Economics, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a strong quantitative foundation.
- Solid understanding of applied statistical and financial methods, as well as risk modeling techniques.
- Proven experience in developing analytical tools and models using programming languages such as R and Python.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy or commodity trading, with deep insight into market dynamics.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments, including Futures, Swaps, Forwards, and Options, along with their valuation methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with management reporting, particularly in Profit & Loss analysis and market risk metrics (e.g., positions, sensitivities, limits).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a curious, problem-solving attitude and a focus on delivering effective solutions.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach with the ability to foster strong, long-term professional relationships.
- Full professional proficiency in Polish and English, both spoken and written.
