Risk Analyst (f/m/d)

Axpo has been operating in the Polish market for over 20 years now. It employs about 260 people and is one of the largest independent offtakers of green energy. Customers in Poland benefit from tailor-made offers for the purchase and supply of energy and gas based on structured and long-term contracts. Axpo Polska also provides services to more than 25,000 companies from the small and medium-sized enterprises segment and, since April 2020, it has only been offering energy with a certified origin from renewable energy sources. While supporting energy transition in Poland, the Company also implements large-scale photovoltaic projects.
What you will do:
Perform deep-dive analyses of P&L and risk KPIs, delivering insights that drive decision-making.
Analyze Trading and Origination portfolios, assess their risk profiles, and collaborate closely with Front Office and senior management.
Provide detailed risk analyses across business lines, including in-depth evaluations of critical topics.
Foster a strong risk-aware culture and support the management of material risks that could impact the company’s strategic objectives.
What you bring & who you are:
A university degree with top grades in Economics, IT, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field with a strong numerical foundation.
Proven expertise in applied statistical and financial methods, including modeling.
Proficiency in coding languages such as Python is a strong advantage.
A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in energy or commodity trading.
Solid knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments (Futures, Swaps, Forwards, Options) and their valuation.
Strong experience in management reporting on P&L and market risk (e.g., positions, exposures).
Excellent analytical skills, a curious mindset, and a problem-solving, solution-focused attitude.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to build long-lasting relationships.
Full professional proficiency in English.
