Junior Performance Engineer (f/m/d)

As a Junior Performance Engineer, you'll combine asset management with software engineering, data science and the Microsoft Platform to build digital solutions that help our teams perform at their best.
What you will do:
Work as a digitally minded asset manager, partnering with operations, engineering and business teams to spot performance gaps, maintenance challenges and automation opportunities.
Gather user needs and translate them into clear requirements, data models, workflows and scalable solutions for the Asset Management Platform.
Design, build, test and maintain reliable software tools and data pipelines that connect plant operations, maintenance, financial and manually collected data.
Analyse SCADA data, events, maintenance and business data to uncover losses, recurring issues, anomalies and improvement opportunities across the biomethane portfolio.
Develop, validate and document statistical, machine-learning and optimization models that support performance monitoring, anomaly detection and decision-making.
Create intuitive Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs and decision-ready reports for Plant Managers, Asset Management and senior stakeholders.
What you bring & who you are:
MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering or a related quantitative field.
Strong software-engineering foundations, including clean and modular code, testing, debugging, version control and clear documentation.
Proficiency in Python, with hands-on ability to prepare, analyse and visualize data and to develop analytical or machine-learning models.
Practical experience building data products, analytical tools, dashboards or workflow automation, gained through academic projects, internships or work experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and confidence within Microsoft 365 – ideally complemented by experience with SharePoint Online, Azure, Dataverse, Fabric, Teams, Copilot Studio or GitHub.
Strong communicator with the curiosity and patience to work directly with users – ideally with exposure to asset management, maintenance management, industrial operations, renewable energy, biogas or biomethane production, or knowledge of plant monitoring, SCADA, sensor data or work orders. Fluent in English and motivated by tangible operational results.

You'll join the Asset Management team, working closely with Operations, Construction, Engineering, Finance and Acquisitions across Axpo Biogas International.
