AI Learning & Adoption Specialist (f/m/d)
Workload: 100%
Axpo Trading & Sales is on an ambitious journey to embed artificial intelligence into the way we work, enabling our employees to get the most out of this powerful technology at scale. As our AI Learning & Adoption Specialist, you will be at the heart of that shift.
You will translate Axpo’s AI ambition into practical enablement for Trading & Sales: role-relevant training, accessible learning content, leadership support, and adoption activities that help teams move from curiosity to sustained, responsible, and value-creating use of AI (incl. AI assistants and agents).
As part of the Agentic AI Program, you will work closely with the globally distributed Data & Analytics (DnA) team, business stakeholders, and the DnA Community to drive a structured change journey.
What you will do:
Design AI learning programs: Develop and improve a tailored data and AI upskilling curriculum. Diagnose needs with GenAI Engineers, Business Analysts and local teams, and translate AI concepts into practical guidance, including enterprise memory and responsible use.
Support leaders and managers: Act as a trusted sparring partner for leaders as they navigate the opportunities and implications of AI for their teams. Help managers build AI-confident teams and embed new ways of working in day-to-day operations.
Drive AI adoption: Create strategies to move employees along the AI maturity curve, from awareness to confident use of AI tools, removing barriers and fostering on-the-job application.
Align with broader initiatives: Partner with DnA leadership to integrate upskilling efforts with key programs (incl. modern DnA Platform and data governance) and measure learning effectiveness using KPIs and feedback.
Engage the community: Organise events, celebrate progress, and develop internal champions to sustain momentum and support adoption.
Champion human skills in an AI-powered workplace: Build capabilities such as critical thinking, sound judgement, effective communication, better prompting, challenging AI outputs and navigating complexity with confidence.
What you bring & who you are:
Experience & background:
University degree (BSc/MSc) in a relevant field (e.g., Learning Design, Change Management, Data Science), or equivalent practical experience in a learning & development, organisational change, digital adoption, or change management role, ideally within a data, analytics, or technology context.
Additional certifications in change management, data & AI, or learning design/facilitation are an advantage.
Track record of designing and delivering upskilling programmes that have driven measurable behaviour change, not just course completions.
Experience working with or within data and/or AI teams, and a genuine interest in how AI is reshaping work, and how to use it responsibly.
Experience partnering with cross-functional leadership to diagnose adoption challenges and drive behaviour change.
Familiarity with the energy trading, commodities, or financial services sector is a plus, but not a requirement.
Skills & capabilities:
Strong instructional design and facilitation skills, making learning engaging, practical, and sticky (incl. hosting workshops).
Excellent communication and storytelling ability across audiences. You can translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences without losing the substance.
Comfort using data to diagnose adoption gaps and demonstrate impact.
Strong stakeholder management skills, building trust across hierarchies and functions, and influencing without formal authority.
Collaborative, resilient, and skilled at creating momentum.
Fluent in English (at least B2); additional language skills are an advantage, especially Spanish, German, or Italian.
Mindset:
Acknowledge that data and AI transformation is fundamentally a cultural challenge, not a technology one.
Curious about AI and actively keep pace with its evolving landscape (technical depth not required, but literacy essential).
Thrive on continuous learning and bring others along with you.
Lead with empathy and understand that change can sometimes feel uncomfortable, even when necessary.
What we offer:
A high-impact role at the intersection of AI, learning, and organisational change, with real scope to shape the agenda.
A collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment within Axpo's Data & Analytics function.
Flexibility and autonomy, with a hybrid working model based in Madrid.
About the team:
The AI Learning & Adoption Specialist will be part of Axpo’s Agentic AI Program, a cross-functional initiative driving AI adoption across Trading & Sales, running under the sponsorship of the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO). You will collaborate with the broader DnA team, the AI Enablement Partners, technology functions, and the Learning & Development team to reach employees across the organisation. The program fosters a culture of pragmatic experimentation and continuous learning, giving you the opportunity to shape how AI becomes part of everyday work at Axpo while growing your expertise at the forefront of enterprise AI adoption.
