Data Platform Engineer (f/m/d)

As one of our Back-end developers / platform engineers f/m/d, you will be at the core of the infrastructure powering some of our critical energy and trading processes! Building on your extensive technical experience and your pragmatic mindset, you will be directly responsible for shaping and transforming our data landscape. What you will do:
Build, extend and maintain our internal data management framework, including its API layer, high-available and scalable services and the foundational tooling that data engineers across the organisation depend on daily.
Design and implement robust data integration and ingestion services to ensure seamless, reliable data flow between internal systems, applications and storage layers.
Define, implement and maintain performant data models as well as scalable and resilient storage solutions.
Establish and implement tooling to improve overall data quality and lineage capabilities across the platform.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and translating these into well-designed, data-driven solutions.
Collaborate with our internal infrastructure team on cloud solutions, with hands-on involvement in IaaS provisioning and maintenance.
Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, ensuring solutions are cost-effective, sustainable and built to last.
What you bring & who you are:
You are a competent developer (7+ years' experience) with extensive practical knowledge in one or more widely adopted programming languages (Python, C#, Java or similar).
You have worked with Cloud infrastructure and services (preferably Azure) and ideally have demonstrated hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines as well as broader DevOps practices.
You have a working knowledge of database technologies (preferably PostgreSQL).
You bring practical experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect or similar, ensuring the efficient scheduling and monitoring of data workflows.
Being a hands-on problem solver, complex problem analysis and solution-design thinking are among your core strengths.
You bring strong communication skills and can adapt to, manage and influence a variety of business & IT stakeholders.
You are proficient in English; Spanish is a plus.
Preferred: deep understanding of the energy and/or trading industry.
