Intern Operational Buyer (f/m/d)
Position Overview
The internship aims to provide practical insights into operational procurement, supplier coordination, and internal stakeholder support within a structured category organization. The intern will work closely with experienced buyers and the Category Leader to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, compliance, and best practices, while developing skills for a future career in procurement or supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
Support the operational procurement team with daily purchasing and procurement activities.
Assist in processing purchase requests, orders, and tracking deliveries.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal guidelines and compliance requirements.
Aid the Category Leader and Operational Buyers in reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks.
Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations and delivery tracking.
Contribute to process improvements and standardization initiatives within operational procurement.
Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics, or related fields.
Skills:
Strong interest in procurement, supply chain management, and operational processes.
Structured, reliable, and detail-oriented working style.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Strong communication abilities and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Technical Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
Languages:
Fluent German (mandatory) and English; additional language skills are a plus for international procurement tasks.
Team Collaboration
The intern will collaborate effectively with the Operational Buyer team and cross-functional teams. While leadership skills are not required initially, the role emphasizes teamwork and proactive engagement.
