As a Data Platform Engineer at Axpo, you will push Axpo’s data platform to the next level. Applying strong collaboration throughout different engineering domains and cutting-edge technologies we will bridge the gap between IT and business to become a data driven company. Therefore, we are looking we are looking for a strong maker mentality.
We are focused on creating and maintaining scalable systems, supporting the collection, processing, and transformation of large datasets. A strong understanding of core engineering concepts, best practices such as testing, source control, and agile planning are essential, as well as the ability to understand, manage and improve the platform in all its complexity. This position is ideal for someone with experience in platform engineering, interested in scaling up and enabling others.
What you will do:
Contribute in designing and improving a sustainable, cutting-edge data platform
Collaborate closely with platform architects, data architects, platform engineers, and security officers to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable environment for our users
Contribute to Axpo’s goal to become a data driven company by acting as a role model, providing best practices, simplifying access to data and providing modern tools
Proactively scout and evaluate innovative technologies and emerging trends in infrastructure and cloud computing
What you bring & who you are:
At least 2+ years of proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Python (or similar) is required
Experience managing cloud environments - preferably Azure - and working with data services such as Databricks and Azure Data Factory is a strong plus
Know-How in identity and access management in complex data environments
Knowledge of networking within the Azure ecosystem is an advantage
Fluent in English
Team-minded, proactive mindset and a maker mentality with a good sense of humor
