SAP Payroll and Time Management Senior Consultant (f/m/d)

We are looking for an experienced SAP Payroll and Time Management expert to support our HR modernization program as part of Axpo's Digital Transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining SAP Payroll and Time Management modules. Your primary goal will be to deliver accurate payroll solutions, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with regulations. You will collaborate closely with teams across HR, IT, finance, and external partners to gather requirements, create functional specifications, and implement high-quality solutions. A deep understanding of SAP Payroll and Time Management, along with strong problem-solving skills, is essential.
Proficiency in SAP Payroll and Time Management is critical for this role. Experience with Swiss payroll is a significant advantage.
What you will do
- Work with stakeholders to define requirements and understand payroll and time management processes.
- Analyze existing payroll and time management systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Supervise the configuration of the SAP Payroll and Time Management modules to meet business requirements.
- Assist in implementing payroll and time management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions or enhancements.
- Provide end-user training and support during and after implementation.
- Oversee the project’s transition into operational mode and contribute to setting up a support model for ongoing service. Be part of the support model after implementation.
- Stay updated on SAP Payroll and Time Management features, new releases, and best practices.
- Manage SAP OSS notes and system updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP Payroll and Time Management with other modules, such as HR, finance, and procurement.
- Participate in related projects, including system upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and migrations.
What you bring & who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience as an SAP Payroll and Time Management Consultant or similar technical role. SAP certification in Payroll and Time Management modules is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of SAP Payroll and Time Management modules, including configuration, schema, and rules.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP Payroll configuration tools such as Payroll Control Centre (PCC), Wage Types, and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCR).
- Experience managing end-to-end SAP Payroll and Time Management projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot system issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with other SAP products, such as HR HCM or SuccessFactors, is a plus.
- Knowledge of ABAP programming and debugging is desirable but not essential.
- Experience integrating SAP Payroll with external systems (e.g., time and attendance) is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent command of German and English.
