Join Axpo’s Group IT to help shape the leading IT organization in the European energy sector. You’ll design and scale the data backbone behind our Business Intelligence solutions which power decision-making across the organization.

What you will do:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines with Databricks and Azure, integrating both on-prem and cloud sources
• Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes for our Delta Lakehouse, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance at scale
• Collaborate closely with BI engineers to design data models and deliver high-value datasets for Power BI and reporting solutions
• Improve scalability, performance, and reliability across data workflows and platform components
• Troubleshoot complex pipeline and platform issues with a hands-on, proactive approach
• Contribute to data governance, quality standards, and security practices together with our central data platform team
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing, and support a culture of continuous improvement

What you bring & who you are:

• Solid experience in data engineering with Databricks (Python, PySpark, SQL) and Azure (or cloud environment)
• Practical experience designing and tuning pipelines for high-volume or complex data scenarios
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms, data lakehouse/lake/warehouse concepts, and distributed compute
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD (GitHub or similar)
• Interest or experience in BI and reporting, ideally with Power BI exposure
• Advanced English skills; German and/or Spanish would be an advantage
• Analytical mindset backed by a relevant background (engineering, mathematics, computer science, business, etc.)
• Experience working in agile teams and applying software engineering best practices
