Application Engineer / IT Business Analyst (f/m/d)

We support the optimal use of green energy generated by our hydro plants through advanced IT systems. As the energy sector undergoes rapid transformation, driven by renewable energy trends and increased flexibility demands, we need innovative IT solutions to manage growing complexity, speed, and data volumes.
What you will do:
- Contribute to maintaining and supporting high-quality, internally developed software written in C#.
- Engage in diverse tasks, from daily operations to shaping application architecture, defining strategies, and leading initiatives like Cloud adoption, Security improvements, and DevOps enablement.
- Apply expertise in monitoring, logging, alerting, and cloud/system engineering to enhance team capabilities.
- Drive the transition to Microservices Architecture, Containerization (using Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-compatible solutions while adopting DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand end-to-end processes and propose scalable, robust technical solutions in partnership with architecture, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Participate in the 24/7 support team, showcasing responsibility and teamwork.
What you bring & who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, engineering, economics, or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in roles like software engineer, technical business analyst, cloud engineer, or developer.
- Proficiency in software development, testing, and scripting (preferably in C# or Python).
- Strong analytical skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
- Additional advantages:
- Experience in the energy sector or trading.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure Services, and Microsoft Intune.
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud infrastructure and Terraform for deploying infrastructure as code.
About the team:
You’ll join a dedicated team responsible for critical IT applications, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term project goals. We work closely with business stakeholders, IT architects, developers, and system engineers (on-premises and Azure) to maximize the value of our IT applications.
