About the Role
As a (Senior) Compliance Officer Iberia, you will be the primary Compliance contact in Iberia and the key escalation point for Due Diligence cases (2nd line of defence). Your role includes advising the business on all relevant compliance matters, including handling whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, benefits, and Code of Conduct violations while managing high-risk Business Partner cases and conducting in-depth investigations. You will ensure compliance with local and international regulations, collaboration across the organization to mitigate risks, enhance processes, and uphold ethical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of the global compliance framework and local regulations and ABC, AML, KYC, and ESG requirements.
- Act as the first point of contact for Compliance topics in Iberia
- Assess and mitigate risks related to whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, benefits, and Code of Conduct violations, conduct internal investigations where required
- Manage high-risk Due Diligence escalations, ensuring thorough investigations and risk assessments.
- Conduct in-depth investigations into complex Business Partner profiles.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records of compliance activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, sharing best practices and strengthening compliance frameworks.
What You Bring
- Autonomous and proactive approach, with the ability to manage compliance matters independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills, eager to understand Axpo’s business operations (AXIB/AXPT/Goldenergy) and engage with employees across Iberia.
- Degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in compliance, due diligence/KYC in a multinational organisation.
- Experience in Third-Party Risk Management is a plus.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills for handling complex cases.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; German or Portuguese is a plus.
- Proficiency in compliance-related tools (eg. screening tools) and Microsoft Office.
