As a Health & Safety Specialist at Axpo Iberia, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and supervising occupational health and safety programs and policies. Your primary goal is to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, minimizing risks associated with the company's operations, including those of office employees and subcontractors. You will collaborate closely with various departments and external partners to enforce HSE regulations effectively.
What you will do:
- Create and update Occupational Health and Safety policies in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish and update procedures for the identification, assessment, and control of occupational risks, coordinating with HR, Legal, and business departments, as well as external H&S providers.
- Control and review risks and documentation for activities by Axpo Iberia, Axpo Portugal, or related businesses, including subcontracting and visits to biomethane plants.
- Coordinate and control external business activities (CAE).
- Ensure H&S compliance in all Axpo Iberia, Axpo Services EMEA, and Axpo Portugal offices, as well as Axpo and subcontracted facilities.
- Manage and be responsible for all external and internal H&S audits, and conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure safety standards compliance.
- Supervise the implementation of preventive measures and monitor workplace accidents.
- Coordinate emergency simulations with the office manager and building staff.
- Request and follow up on medical examinations and mandatory training in coordination with HR.
- Promote and maintain high standards of physical, mental, and social well-being among workers.
What you bring & who you are:
- Master's degree in H&S with at least 3 specializations or a related degree in engineering, environmental, or labor relations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the energy industry.
- Technical knowledge in safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and psychosociology.
- Strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations effectively.
- Experience dealing with external parties, including prevention providers and business departments.
- Proactivity, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Driving license and availability to travel.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
